As the European Commission increasingly incorporates the concept of ‘sustainability due diligence’ into it’s policies, there is a clear need to better understand and prepare for possible implications for business, governments and civil society. This event proposes a lunch-debate on ‘EU Sustainable Corporate Due Diligence
The event is aimed at representatives from business and non-business, and provides practical insights into the current EU policy-frameworks which incorporate the concept ESG Due Diligence on business operations and how companies can prepare towards implementation.
The event is set-up in two sessions:

During this lunch-event, speakers will reflect on: what is expected from the negotiations following the European Commission proposal? How can (EU and non-EU) business and organizations engage through EU Public Affairs?

Session 2 (paid): (14:30 – 16:30) Masterclass ‘Getting to grips with ESG Due Diligence implementation in a business context; best practices from a cross-industry perspective’

During this session, Famke Schaap will share insights on how ESG Due Diligence is set-up in a business context, building on variety of advisory assignments completed (incl with Deloitte Belgium as well as with Hyacint Consult).
During this hands-on Masterclass session, topics to be covered include; key challenges and key success factors for implementation of ESG Due Diligence in a business context; approaches to ESG Due Diligence – from OECD Guidelines to industry standards; How can business leverage the goals of ensuring (legal) compliance across a wide range of Government legal frameworks and industry standards, corporate sustainability ambitions, whilst meeting broader expectations from society; tools to support management and coordination of ESG Due Diligence.
